Now that your design Process has finished and you have submitted your final designs to your client, it's time to get down to your Production Plan.

A Production Plan is a very neat tool to gather your thoughts, work out your cost estimate and plan your project to be well finished and delivered on-time.

Your last minute check list

Before you submit your research task for marking, make sure you've covered everything that's required. You don't want to miss out on that A just because you forgot something!

Have you:

1. Outlined your definition of Steampunk?
2. Identified the common features of Steampunk costumes?
3. Shown at least 3 examples of Steampunk costumes?
4. Identified elements that need to be made with wood and/or metal?
5. Shown at least 3 examples of Supanova costumes?
6. Selected your character and Steampunked it in a series of three drawings (1. The original character, 2. A cosplay example of the character & 3. Your Steampunk version of this costume)?
7. Checked Regretsy and other sites to show at least 3 examples of good and bad examples of Steampunk?
8. Evaluated whether your design is Steampunk enough?
9. Got another student to give you some constructive feedback on your design?
10. Submitted your final design to your client for the tick of approval before you start your construction

Quick, get some feedback before your client sees!

As a professional designer, you would submit your work to your client regularly for revisions- where they say they either love it or hate it or bombard you with unhelpful advice (such as the delights of Clientsfromhell).

Because you are students, you can capitalise on the fact that your fellow students are more likely to give you helpful advice to improve your designs before you submit them to your client.

Your mission is to swap your designs with your classmates to get some constructive feedback in order to improve your designs.

Helpful Hint: Remember, you always gain better marks when you can show progression, refinement and problem solving in your work, so make sure you document your feedback and Annotate HOW and WHY you changed your design.

Is it Steampunk enough?

Steampunk has become very popular recently and this has meant lots of "artists" have jumped on the bandwagon and tried to make money off the trend.

Dude, really?

To make sure your product is an authentic Steampunk inspired piece: take some time to look at some truly awful examples of "Steampunk" projects helpfully compiled from the folks over at Regretsy (a satirical take on the website Etsy).
